Sky Tree

Yesterday our scientists took a hike through the meadow and into the outdoor classroom. Our focus was to study trees. We looked closely and noticed the green leaves, thick trunks, thin branches and the way they moved when the wind blew through them. We were observing the world with our science eyes.
Today we read the book Sky Tree  by Thomas Locker.

We then walked outside to observe our very own “Sky Tree”. After studying the Tree closely these scientists recorded what they saw. We learned that scientific recordings are very specific and are used to represent something exactly as it is.

I was so impressed with the focus and intentional work our learners were showing!! After taking this time outside, we went back into the classroom to add color.

What a great learning experience!! We love science!!!
