Our first go at readers workshop was a great success!! Students practiced silent reading for 2 minutes! I know this sounds minimal, but it is so hard to do for these young readers. I was impressed!
In the beginning we focus on teaching habits. These include : gentle hands, quiet voices, eyes on your book and stay in your spot. These are some excited learners!!
